Cardboard Project:
This project took up a considerable amount of time within Sculpture. And, I think, if I would have organized differently, I could have sustained even longer, and it would have been completely worth it. This is a project that I proudly kept completely open, so that the students could create anything, and consequently, they created types of imagery that span a wide range of possibilities. Even though I was a young teacher at the time, this project proves that stepping out of the way and leading with a "light touch" can be an incredibly effective teaching practice. There was a deep enthusiasm throughout the project, a profound level of discovery, and a genuine high level of craftsmanship for every student.
